The extracellular matrix and tumour biology
Aim
Hannah’s research focuses on the relevance of extracellular matrix biology for tumour development and progression. Her groups work bridges tissue-based observations with molecular and functional validation to ascertain correlation and causality. From multi-modal spatially resolved characterisation in large patient cohorts to functional validation in clinically relevant model systems her research asks: What does the ECM look like in human disease? How is it generated and regulated? How does it impact cell identity and what therapeutic interventions can be used to target it? Incorporating the fields of digital and experimental pathology her work aims to identify ECM related mechanisms of disease, biomarkers and therapeutic vulnerabilities to improve patient outcomes.
